What is Hung Ga Kuen?
HUNG GA KUEN (Hung Family Fist) is one of the most famous martial art styles of Southern China.
Although known for its devastating and powerful close-range techniques, and its utilization of the five animals and five elements of traditional Shaolin philosophy, this system offers mental and spiritual growth achieved through rigorous internal and external training, proven life management philosophies and silent introspection.

Gung Ji Fuk Fu Kwen
Two very important foundation forms. Gung Ji Kuen is our foundation form, this from introduces the practitioner to the basic fighting techniques and applications of the 5 Animal/ 5 Element Philosophy.
Fuk Fu Kuen is our foundation fighting form. It should be practiced with the same ideas as Gung Ji Kuen (to make use of the foundation developed), but should be practiced with increased speed, smoothness, fighting intensity, and taking ground.
Ng Ying Kuen
The Hung system is perhaps one of the most famous of the animal styles because it incorporates the dragon, snake, tiger, leopard and crane. In the late 1800, Wong Fei Hung was able to infuse the five animals techniques with the five element strengths
The Dragon form develops the Spirit, the correctness of breath, the use of the waist and the twisting of the stance;
The Tiger form instills fierceness of spirit, develops clawing techniques and strengthens the bones and tendons;
The Crane form teaches grace, control, balance and trains the sinews;
The Snake form trains the fingers, promotes Qi circulation, control and teaches strikes to the vital points of the body;
The Leopard form teaches the 'chaap choy' (piercing jab) and the use of speed and strength.
Fu Hok Seung Ying
This is the most famous form of the Hung Ga style and the core of the entire system. Whereas Gung Ji Fook Fu Kuen si a basic training form, Fu Hok Seung Ying develops fighting technique and stresses the cultivation of the Tiger and the Crane forms. The Crane develops Bing Ging (Soft Whipping Power), whereas the Tiger develops fighting spirit and fierceness (Hard Power).
鶴形:培養「鞭勁」(柔韌且迅捷的力量);
Ng Long Baat Gua Kwun
This form was created by a famous spear master of the Sung Dynasty, the Fifth Brother of the Yang Family. After losing a major battle, this General joined a temple and became a monk where he adapted his spear techniques into the staff (pole). Due to its spear influence, techniques in this form are delivered primarily with one end of the pole, thus it is called a single ended poled form. This form lays the foundation for all long weapons.

WORLD PRESIDENT, YEE’S HUNG GA INTERNATIONAL KUNG FU ASSOCIATION
It is with full confidence today that I bring forward this testimonial for my Training brother Sharif Bey . Sharif Bey is one of the five successors of Grandmaster, Frank Yee ( Yee Chee Wai) founder of Yee’s Hung ga International Kung Fu Association. The Association was founded in 1974 in New York City Chinatown. This is one of the first schools to introduce great Grandmaster Tang, Fong, GGM Wong Fei Hung’s other pupil and the unique expression that you have all come to witness. Since that time we have been spreading our lineage’s expression of the art for more than 50 years. Sifu Sharif Bey has worked tirelessly at spreading and representing the knowledge that is so dear to our hearts since the late 80s. His understanding and ability to transfer knowledge to his students and those around them are of the highest levels.

30YR TRADITIONAL MARTIAL ARTS, BJJ INSTRUCTOR
“I've been training Kung Fu for 25 years and I've been blessed enough to meet some truly great teachers. Sifu Sharif is absolutely one of the best instructors I have ever met and he's a genuinely great human being as well. His understanding of martial arts is extremely deep and his explanations make higher level concepts accessible to students of every level. He teaches realistic martial arts, all applications being for situations that might happen in real life instead of choreographed performance tricks that only work in your home gym. On top of his amazing martial skills, he also inspires people to grow and become their best selves in all areas. I can't possibly recommend Sifu Sharif enough and I don't have the right words to describe how much he's changed my training and mindset towards life. If you're looking to learn real Hung Gar, this is the teacher to train under.”

“I joined Syracuse Kung Fu's fight team in 2013. I am grateful for the high quality of instruction at the school and the opportunities it has afforded me, including training and competing in China. Sifu has a wealth of knowledge in traditional Chinese martial arts, Qi Gong, and medicine. This is the place to go if you want to learn Kung Fu.”

STUDENT
“I am so grateful to have found this school and the people in it. Sifu Sharif Bey has the ability to teach each person based on their level and how they learn, all in a group setting. I came to the school for a 1st visit going on 3 years ago and have never left. I have gotten physically and mentally stronger, was able to heal a chronic shoulder pain through a QiGong meditation within 3 months of being there, continuing to learn QiGong (which I'm able to use it's daily health benefits), all while still learning fighting/ self-defense skills. All this to say, you can learn and develop a lot based on your interests (from age 5 and above) at Syracuse Kung Fu School, with the most knowledgeable and skilled instructor, in a safe, fun and community environment.”

“I learned a different kungfu style for 3 years, but had no power and often got colds and digestive problems.
One day, I tried Sifu Sharif's online class. In about 10 classes, my power and health improved way beyond what I had in those 3 years. Check it out!”
